Jag vill verkligen ta fasta på Robin Sloans optimism när han uppmuntrar och nästan kallar mig och andra att bana nya vägar vid sidan av de stora avenyerna (läs: “plattformarna”):
For people who care about creating worlds together, rather than getting rich, the web is the past and the web is the future. What incredible luck, that this open, decentralized “way of relating” claimed a position at the heart of the internet, and stuck fast. The web is limited, of course; frustrating; sometimes maddening. But that’s every creative medium. That’s life.

Men jag lyssnar också på Gary Marcus uppskruvade (och bitvis rätt så alarmistiska) tonläge när han skriver:
Nation-states and other bad actors that deliberately produce propaganda, are highly unlikely to voluntarily put down their new arms. Instead, they are likely to use large language models as a new class of automatic weapons, in their war on truth, attacking social media and crafting fake web sites at a volume we have never seen before. For them, the hallucinations and occasional unreliabilities of large language models are not an obstacle, but a virtue.

Även om detta här WordPress knappast kan sägas vara en del av det som Sloan menar att vi ska lämnas bakom oss så är det någonting med den mallade formen som gör att man vill bryta sig loss och mer kunna måla på webben. Att göra något åt det kanske vore att vandra ned för en mer gynnsam allé.
